Play Dwarf Sweeper Online – Minesweeper Meets Dungeon Roguelike
Dwarf Sweeper is a tactical dungeon crawler inspired by Minesweeper and Dragonsweeper, developed during a one-week internal Game Jam at Stray Fawn Studio (with an extra week of polish). This clever indie prototype combines logic and combat as you lead a squad of dwarves through monster-infested mines. Use your brain, bravery, and beard power to survive to the bottom of the third floor and claim victory! ⛏️🧙♂️
Game Concept
In Dwarf Sweeper, you command a team of dwarves, each with unique traits and abilities, exploring treacherous mines filled with hidden enemies. Every click could uncover treasure — or unleash a deadly creature. The game’s logic-based tiles reveal numbers showing the total strength of undiscovered monsters nearby, just like in Minesweeper. Strategy and risk management are key: read the clues, pick your battles, and push deeper for glory and gold. 💎
How To Play
- Click on a dwarf to select it.
- Click on the “Start” tile to begin your descent into the mine.
- Each numbered tile indicates the combined strength of monsters hidden in the surrounding eight tiles.
- Clicking on an undiscovered tile can reveal a monster — and trigger immediate combat.
- When a monster’s strength hits zero, it dies and grants experience to the dwarf who struck the final blow.
- Use the pen tool or number keys (0–9) to make notes and plan your next move.
Controls
- Mouse: Click characters or tiles to move, fight, or interact.
- Keyboard: Press 0–9 and X to mark tiles with notes or strength estimates.
Gameplay Features
- 🧙♂️ Unique Dwarves: Assemble a team, each with different skills and personalities.
- 💥 Simultaneous Combat: Monsters and heroes attack at the same time — plan your moves wisely.
- 💎 Logic + Combat: Read tile clues, deduce monster positions, and clear the path to the exit.
- 🏆 Three Floors to Conquer: Defeat all enemies and reach the bottom to win.
- 🧠 Marking System: Use notes to keep track of monster strengths and safe tiles.
- 🎨 Beautiful Pixel Art: Hand-crafted sprites and animations bring the mines to life.
Tips For Success
- Use the number clues like classic Minesweeper — they reveal how strong nearby threats are.
- Attack strategically; overconfidence can get your dwarves killed fast.
- Rotate between heroes to manage their health and experience gain.
- Use your notes to mark dangerous areas and plan safer exploration routes.
