Minieval – A Tiny Medieval City Builder Inspired by Islanders
Minieval is a charming medieval-themed city builder where strategy meets simplicity. Inspired by the minimalist design of Islanders, it challenges you to place buildings smartly, manage resources, and maximize your Victory Points (VP) before your turns run out. Each decision matters, as placement and interactions between structures can make or break your score. 🏰
How to Play Minieval
Your objective is simple: earn as many Victory Points as possible within a limited number of turns. Every building you place costs Currency, and the amount of Currency and VP you earn depends on what’s around it.
- Positive Interactions – Certain buildings boost each other’s yield when placed nearby (e.g., a Shop near Houses).
- Negative Interactions – Too much competition, like placing two Shops next to each other, can hurt your income.
- Mixed Interactions – Sometimes a placement gives both pros and cons.
- Road Networks – Roads connect buildings that are otherwise out of range, extending economic synergy without affecting VP.
Controls

Tips for Success
- If you run out of Currency, undo recent moves and try a different approach.
- Focus on early Currency generation by placing a Shop and surrounding it with Houses.
- Use Roads strategically to connect distant buildings, but plan ahead since building a network takes time.
- Check the info overlay to understand why a building earns more or less than expected.
- Placement order matters — sometimes building first and connecting to Roads later saves Currency.
- Experiment with different strategies — there’s no single winning formula!
