Put Up

Put Up is a faded platformer with elements of a puzzle, where the player has to control a certain white man, most of all in shape resembling a mushroom. No introduction, no plot, not even a menu - just a space bar to start and a high score table after losing. Nothing more, just the gameplay.

There is no scrolling in the game, each level is a separate screen with obstacles and enemies. There are three types of opponents, and none of them can be described by any analogies - all of them are the fruits of the imagination of the developers. Interestingly, it is impossible to destroy opponents, but you can jump on them, and you often have to use this in order to penetrate otherwise inaccessible places. In addition to enemies, the level scattered fruits that need to be collected in the name of prize points, as well as small red beads that need to be inserted into platforms with special holes. This is necessary for passing the level: placing a bead (in the future it will be necessary to search for several pieces) in a special block, the white man should go to the opened exit portal. In addition, it is necessary to meet the allotted time, after which all the enemies at the level will turn into fruits, but a fiery spirit will rapidly and stubbornly persecuting the hero, the meeting with which is fatal. By the way, very little time is allotted, the maximum is a minute. But the game does not get too short from this, since dozens of levels compensate for this moment.

The graphic design is done at a decent level: both the opponents, the hero, and the scenery are drawn and animated well, although this is partly due to their uniformity. But the sound design leaves an unpleasant feeling - it’s very kutsey. And there is no music at all, only the motive from Joe Dassin's hit on the start screen.
