Husita

Husita is a Czech real-time strategy game, released exclusively for the domestic market and dedicated, as you might guess if you finish at least the 7th grade, to one of the key events in the history of this country - the Hussite Wars.

The plot of the game, unfortunately, fits into one sentence: the action takes place after the execution of Jan Hus, during the period of the real Crusades against his brave followers, led by Jan Zizka. You can play as both the Hussites and the Crusaders, but, unfortunately, the game does not even have full-fledged campaigns - only conditional “scenarios”, in fact, little tied to historical events.

Not much can be said about the mechanics of the game, except perhaps that the development here is completely subordinated to battles and the seizure of territories, and there are few types of buildings and units, and some of the latter, especially artillery, look in a slightly “steampunk” style. As correctly noted in one of the Czech reviews of the game, everything that happens is very reminiscent of Warcraft, in which people and orcs were replaced by Hussites and crusaders.

The game is distinguished by rather beautiful graphics - but primarily in relation to the depiction of landscapes and buildings, because the depiction of units still looks somewhat “childish”. The game should in no way be considered as any kind of textbook on Czech history of that period or as anything serious at all - it is simply an easy-to-learn and quite fun RTS, intended mostly for relaxation and entertainment.
