Alternate Reality: The City
Alternate Reality: The City is an extremely entertaining RPG, inspired, perhaps, by numerous tales of alien abduction that spread in the West after the Roswell disaster.
Your hero is an ordinary person, abducted one very fine morning, like many other people, flying a saucer of aliens directly from the streets of his native city and transferred to a strange place, very similar to the Middle Ages in Europe, but somewhat elusively different. The game begins at this moment, and only you decide what will happen next.
The main advantage of this game is its amazing, even slightly “frightening” non-linearity and freedom of choice. Ideally, of course, your goal is clear - to find out what happened after all, to find the aliens and return anyway home. But - just “one way or another”, how to achieve all of this - only you decide.
It is in your power to become a good or evil resident of a mysterious city, get a job somewhere or become a criminal (because without money there is no food, and without food you will die of hunger), you have to choose how to resolve this or that conflict that has arisen - is it always fight with the enemy or try to deceive, charm (!) or bribe him. In fact, the adoption of such decisions can be almost fundamental for the passage of the game and much more important than pumping “traditional” skills, which here, by the way, are there.
The graphics in the game are very beautiful (though the game screen itself is small), the view is from the first person perspective. The game is definitely recommended for passing to all lovers of the genre.
